She taught mounted meetings for years at Alta Vista and volunteered her mother to be the Barn Mom after she went to college so that those meetings would continue! She currently is training a new, green horse in her “spare” time. Stacy Hoehle – attends Centre College. She was a member of one of the International Games teams that competed in Europe several years ago. She and her horse, Dreamcatcher, were frequent participants at mounted meetings and local shows over the years. Lindsey Doyen – attends University of Louisville. Lindsey was our Covered Bridge Junior Council Representative last year to the MidSouth Region. She has evented for years in the region and participated in many Rallies. New

Cassie, her sister Sara and her mother Liz Englert have been the backbone of our Games teams for many years. It is a great sport and we need to schedule more Games meetings at our barns while we still have this great family as a sport resource. Quiz: Kim

WHAT is “Quiz"? **Parents

-- this

Quiz!! Fall
signups The purpose of Pony Club is to teach children about horsemanship, not just riding. In order to consider yourself a good "horseperson", you must be familiar with the guidelines for feeding, shoeing, and care of your pony, plus be able to recognize illness or signs of improper care on your part. Pony Club Quiz is a horse-related "quiz bowl" contest designed to encourage the study of these subjects. Not only do participants learn what they need to know about horse care, but they also are exposed to many subjects that are required knowledge in order to attain "C" and up ratings - fox hunting terminology, rules for Pony Club Games, blacksmith tools, etc. Instead of having to cram for the written test at Rally, “Quiz kids” are already well prepared. If you have just joined Pony Club, this best way to make friends and learn what this is all about. The sites for the competitions vary around the Mid-South region. There is a banquet after the competition where the ribbons are given out, usually followed by swimming and/or dancing with a DJ in the ballroom. The cost to you for the competition will be approximately $60, which includes dinner for the child. Additional tickets for dinner will be $20 apiece - eating with the kids at the awards banquet is optional for the family. Pony Club gets a rate at a local hotel. Interested kids need to call me at 228-5678 or e-mail me at pfb5678@aol.com. I need at least one parent each for each level to help with these meetings. The information is all organized for you - you do not need to be a "horse person". Parents just like you staff this entire club! Call me now, even early Dec. is OK, too. The first four kids to sign up in each rating level/age group will be guaranteed a spot on a CBPC team, while later sign-ups may have to go on a composite team with another club, depending on the numbers. I think this is the only fair way to handle this issue.
Note:
I
recommend
that
new
members
who
are
interested
in
Quiz
wait
to
test
up
to
their
possible
riding
level
until
they
have
competed
once
because
there
is
a lot
of
information
to
learn
at
the
lower
levels
- call
me
with
questions
about
that
before
you
take
your
test. ****Even if you decide not to compete at Quiz, ALL kids are encouraged to come to any or all of the meetings - just call for the times for your ratings.
Costs
