News Michelle Fegenbush, a C1 at the time that she left us in 9th grade to focus on riding the Hunter Circuit, finished 6th in the nation in the National American League Childrens’ Classic Final at the Pennsylvania National Horse Show in Harrisburg, PA. She was one of 30 high scoring juniors invited to the October 18 show from around the country. Her judge was George Morris, who is such a famous person in the Hunter world that I have even heard of him! Her mother, Betty, graciously attributes part of her success to her time in Pony Club. We are very proud to have her as one of our “Famous Alumni” who periodically grace these pages. Trophy Replication There is a company that can replicate the perpetual Pony Club Trophies for any of you who would like to keep a memento of those, either exact copies or any version that you may wish: Laser Design and Engraving, 7320 New LaGrange Rd. (across from Oxmoor Mall). Number is 425-3270; call before you go. Year-End Covered Bridge

Information on C Level Testings Guidelines for
ratings levels: C1 - You and
your horse should be either preparing for or already competing at Beginner
Novice Level at Horse Trials or Pre-Novice Level at Rally. You need to be able to jump a 2'9 course with confidence,
ride in the open at a speed of 350 mpm (a medium canter), and apply a shipping
bandage. Maintenance Record Book
completed with at least 6 months of information (Record Book is available for
download at Pony Club Forms on the CBPC web site). C2 - You and your horse should be currently riding at the Novice Level either at Rally or at Horse Trials. You need to be able to jump a 3'0 course confidently, ride without stirrups at all gaits, longe a horse and be able to apply both shipping and stable bandages. A written outline for a 6-8 week feeding and conditioning program for any specific competition is required, plus you need to assist in supervised, unmounted instructional sessions for ‘D’s – Rally Camp counts. Record Book must cover 9 months. *FYI – You must be at C2
level by the time of MidSouth Regional Rally to be eligible for National
Championships at the Novice and Training Level.
C3 - This
is a regional testing that has its own examiners and is scheduled as the need
arises at various locations throughout the MidSouth Region. This level requires jumping at a level of 3'3 and the ability
to ride at the Training Level on the flat and cross-country.
Record Book must cover a year. You
must be 13 years old as of January 1 in the year of the test.
Call your DC in January if you would like to test - she has to
apply for dates early in the year if it is to be here in Louisville. If your horse is not capable of moving up, you may borrow a
horse for these testings - your rating is determined by your knowledge and abilities, not your horse's limitations.
If you have already competed at Beginner Novice or above in Horse Trials,
you should test up to a ‘C’ level in order to attend Eventing Rally,
although ‘D3’s are allowed to enter the Pre-Novice Division at Rally.
Sign up for testings with your Barn Mom - they will not be scheduled
otherwise. ‘C’ Standards and Maintenance Record Books are available online at www.ponyclub.org plus arrange to get the C Outlines from Peggi. Annual
